Versailles
Book Design & Art Direction
Turning History into a Modern, Interactive Experience
This project involved art direction and full layout design for a special book celebrating the Château de Versailles. The aim was to create a modern, engaging publication that preserves the château’s unique historical universe while offering a fresh, interactive reading experience.
The book was conceived as more than just pages — it became an object to explore. Multi-panel spreads unfold to reveal hidden details, allowing readers to discover the treasures of the castle step by step. Each page type was carefully designed to balance readability, visual impact, and storytelling, turning the act of reading into an immersive journey.
Throughout the project, every element — from typography to page mechanics, from image placement to narrative flow — was considered in relation to the overall experience. The challenge was to maintain the luxury and elegance of Versailles while introducing contemporary design techniques to make the book feel modern and innovative.
The result is a publication that is both tactile and visually striking, offering a layered experience where the design itself becomes part of the storytelling. It combines art direction, layout innovation, and interactive elements to create a book that celebrates Versailles not just as a historic site, but as a living, unfolding experience for the reader.
